Origins of the
Geopsy Intercultural Journal

Created in December 2009 by Nicolas BOSC, french clinical psychologist, doctor of psychology from the University of Paris VIII, the Geopsy Intercultural Journal is a project of sharing and diffusiong knowledge related to clinical psychology and transculturalism, which aims to contribute to the development of psychology in Southeast Asia is more widely in other countries...

To achieve this objective, the journal adopts an original model specially adapted to the realities that can be found in countries where psychology and mental health in general remain undeveloped:

  • Free consultation and free publication of articles (unlike other scientific journals where the publication of an article can cost several hundred dollars and consultation of articles is subject to payment orf special subscriptions)
  • Publishing of the articles in two languages: 1) French or English language and 2) language of the culture addressed by the article to make the articles fully accessible to local clinicians which may seek clinical informations via traditional search engines (Google, Yahoo...).
  • Publishing of the articles framed by a reading committee composed of volunteer clinicians from different nationalities, all graduates of university masters of psychology or psychiatry, and holds a significant clinical intercultural experience
  • Presence in the reading committee of an article of at least one clinician belonging to the culture treated by the article to ensure be closer to the realities of the country
  • Openness to different theoretical approaches (psychoanalysis, cognitive-behavioral, family, bodytherapies...) and special attention given to traditional therapies and popular believes related to mental health

Today, this project is in its beginning and we hope it will succeed by collecting clinicians from different backgrounds and allow an exchange of knowledge and experience that will serve populations which are often greatly disadvantaged against pathology and difficulties of life.
